New Audi A6 sets its own rules on motoring lifestyle

Aug 15, 2008
Leading-edge technology and performance in a car is measured by many different industry and market standards.
And one of them is the Audi A6. There are good reasons for that: every vehicle in this A6 model series embodies a fascinating combination of design, high-quality materials and finish, and driving dynamics.

The Audi A6, thus, can be described as a fascinating synthesis uniting form with passion, function with comfort and power with supreme sportiness.

The German automaker Audi says that the Audi A6 has always been an extremely progressive car. Many innovations reached the market for the very first time in or on the Audi A6 or its predecessor, the Audi 100. Examples range from the first bonded-in windows (on a car that had a record-breaking low drag coefficient), the galvanised body shell, the V6 TDI engine and the unique multitronic continuously variable transmission. The adoption of front-wheel drive, the quattro permanent all-wheel driveline and the availability of V8 engines in large midsize cars were all inseparably linked to the Audi A6 or the Audi 100. "This model line therefore not only stands for significant progress and customer benefit," says Audi dealer TCY Motors Sdn Bhd, "but also for brand values specifically associated with Audi, its premium status and its sports character."

The previous Audi A6 already succeeded in combining a high level of road dynamics with good ride comfort, impressive engine power and performance on the road with excellent fuel economy and the advantages of a large saloon car suitable for long journeys with an appearance that had more than a hint of coupé styling.

The Audi A6 has even more to offer, particularly in its impressive emotive qualities. In other words, it demonstrates its progressive character from the very first glimpse one has of its body — and when it is driven, this visual fascination is borne out by contact with its stimulating inner values.

"The Audi A6 is clearly a car with ambitions in the luxury category and aims to establish the Audi A6 as a leader in the large car class; it has been planned and built to sell in high volume like those that went before it," says TCY Motors. After its introduction in 1997, about a million Audi A6 cars were sold worldwide in the first six years of its life-cycle.

Among the motoring industry awards the Audi A6 won include the "Best midsize luxury vehicle 2008" from Auto Motor und Sport magazine readers' poll; and "Auto Trophy" from 2004-2007 for best executive class category from Auto Zeitung magazine, Germany. "The current Audi A6 has everything that a car could need to surpass this fine record," said TCY Motors.
