The 2-day exclusive event sees Audi Brunei inviting over 80 customers, guests as well as members of the media to participate in the Audi driving event, which is a road and ‘track’ based safety and dynamic driving event as well as vehicle product demonstration.
Participants went through three exercises, which were the Ride and Drive, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) demo and Track Experience which features the all-new Audi TTS.
The event also aims to further educate vehicle owners on the safety capabilities of Audi vehicles as well as give drivers an in-depth knowledge on safe but dynamic driving.
The day began with the registration of participants and a general safety briefing by professional driving instructors Nicolaas Smit and Paul Gray both invited from South Africa and Australia. Smit was also one of two instructors for last year’s inaugural event.
The first exercise is the Ride & Drive that features the Audi A5 Coupe, A7 Sportback, A8L and the Q7. Guests will have the opportunity to experience the Audi Drive Select featured in all the high-end models and feel the handling differences of each car on an open road.
The second exercise is the nerve wracking Electronic Stability Control (ESC) demo where the hands-on experience teaches drivers on the effectiveness of the ESC system in an emergency maneuver. Drivers had to accelerate to a speed of about 60km/h and swerve right and left through designated cones with the foot off the pedals.
The last and exciting exercise was the Track Experience on the main JP go-kart track. Guests drove the all-new Audi TTS sports coupé which is the top-of-the line variant in the TT family on a ‘hot-lap’ around the track. The Audi TTS boast an output of over 300 bhp and the latest in quattro® all-wheel-drive technology. It is also the first Audi model to feature the innovative Audi Virtual Cockpit system.
